What is SSL?Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network. Several versions of the protocol are widely used in applications such as email, instant messaging, and voice over IP, but its use as the Security layer in HTTPS remains the most publicly visible.
How it works?
The SSL certificate is installed on the server, but on the browser, users can still see whether the website is protected by SSL. First, if SSL appears on the website, the URL that users can see starts with https:// instead of http// (the extra one stands for "security"). According to the verification or certificate level obtained by the company, the security link will be displayed by a padlock icon or a green address bar.
